A very interesting tangle of beads!

Less beads, but I like the second of these two best.

These designs are much easier to do since fusible web was introduced to the quilting world as before then the shapes had to be cur out, edges turned under, the shapes arranged on the background, then stitched by hand.

Beaded Blocks and Borders 37, 38 from Virtual Quilter

String of Beads designs are a great way to use scraps, or fabrics purchased for the project. They are also easy to applique by hand or machine if you use fusible webbing … not so easy if you do the needleturn method.

I love the simplicity of the second design, and the spaces which can be filled with quilting, but I cannot pick a favourite today.

Simply repeat blocks … not often I share a design with just one block, but I love the simplicity of this design.

The second design for today is more like my usual offerings, but I prefer the first one.

I love Strings of Beads, and all the variety of designs possible with just one simple shape.

The second design is my favourite for today!

I wonder how many little leaf shapes would be needed to make todays designs? They not too hard to cut as there are no fiddly corners, and they can be cut more easily with a die cutter, and my Scan’n’Cut makes it even easier, and setting out pattern sheets in Electric Quilt makes it even easier.

That looks like a huge pile of beads to prepare and stitch, but experience tells me it is not as time consuming as it looks.

Not quite as many beads, but very interesting design.
